Thursday September 19th, we are excited to release Black Barn Program No. 7 Fresh Hop IPA on draft and in bottles in our tasting room.
Compared to our traditional brews that use almost exclusively pelletized hops, this beer uses wet (undried) whole cone Simcoe hops that were send to us directly from Yakima Chief Hops in Yakima, Washington. They were put into the brew within 24 hours of being harvested. These whole cone fresh hops give the beer a more grassy or “green” note, and a re a unique way of showcasing the hop’s flavors.
