Title:  Territory Manager – Maine and New England 

Department: Operations - Sales 

Reports To: Director of Business Operations

Overall Description: The Territory Manager - Maine/New England is based within their assigned geography and is responsible for fostering good relations with key accounts, new business development and inspiring our distributors to responsibly sell our beer.  Territory covers ME, NH, VT and other regions as assigned.  Will be expected to meet annual volume targets. 

General Functions:

  • Do what’s right!

  • Protect the brand

  • Know your distributors and your market

  • Develop meaningful new business in a responsible way

  • Properly manage distributor inventories

  • Forge highly effective partnerships with distributor personnel and accounts 

  • Achieve targets

  • Maintain a professional image and demeanor at all times

  • Assist at all special events and festivals as assigned

  • Communicate effectively and frequently

  • Don’t break the law

  • Perform administrative tasks as assigned

  • Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 or over to apply

  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to operate a vehicle

  • Honesty, professionalism, and comfort speaking one-on-one and in public forums a must

  • Self-starter, ability to work autonomously and complete tasks with limited direct supervision 

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in the craft beer industry, either working in a sales capacity for a distributor or directly for a brewery 

  • Deep knowledge of the three-tier distribution system 

  • Excellent organizational, planning, project management, and sales skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills

  • Proficient on a Mac 

  • Must be able to maintain business-like behavior during and after the consumption of alcohol 

  • Must be able to lift 24lb cases and 60lb kegs  

  • Extensive travel required within territory that will involve frequent overnights, weekends and occasional travel outside territory as needed. 

  • Certified Cicerone and/or Certified Beer Server a plus.  Valid driver’s license and a cleandriving record a must

Position is full time and compensation is dependent on experience.

Overall Description: Outside Sales Opportunity for Maine Beer Company, based in Greater Boston and covering MA, CT, and RI. The Greater Boston Sales Representative is based within their assigned geography and is responsible for fostering good relations with key accounts, new business development and inspiring our distributors to responsibly sell our beer.  Territory covers MA, CT, RI, and other regions as assigned.  Will be expected to meet annual volume targets.
