Part-Time Packaging Technician

Job Description:

Maine Beer Company is dedicated to producing the best beer possible.  We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic to join our Packaging Team within the Production Department to conduct daily packaging operations (bottling and kegging beer).  First and foremost, the candidate must have a positive attitude and work well with others as a member of a small company.  Position is part-time and based in Freeport, Maine.  Salary is dependent on experience. Job Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

•   Work collaboratively with the Director of Brewing Operations and the Director of Quality, and under the supervision of the Packaging Manager, to ensure that high quality standards are met in all packaging operations
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and follow safe work practices
•  Adhere to Maine Beer Company’s packaging SOPs to complete daily packaging responsibilities
•  Adhere to appropriate SOPs to ensure minimal oxygen pick-up during packaging operations (e.g. capping on foam, monitoring DO during   kegging, etc.)
•  CIP of tanks, hoses, etc.
Assist other production personnel (brewers and cellar operators) as needed
•  Drive truck to deliver trailers with spent grain to local farms
•  Perform routine maintenance tasks of packaging equipment as needed
•  Perform routine cleaning tasks of packaging equipment and work areas as needed

Minimum Qualifications: 

•   Production brewery experience, particularly in the packaging discipline highly preferred
Ability to multi-task while working safely and efficiently
•  Ability to follow established SOPs
•  Ability to lift up to 60 lbs repeatedly and work standing on concrete floors for prolonged periods of time
•  Ability to work with little to no supervision
•  Has excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
A positive attitude and willingness to help co-workers when needed
•  An individual that takes initiative, is proactive and is self-motivated
•  Is meticulous about sanitization, and has an appreciation for keeping things clean
Has great attention to detail
•  Schedule flexibility (e.g. able to work late when needed, able to accommodate changing/rotating schedules)
•  Mechanical aptitude is a plus
•  Electric pallet jack / fork lift experience a plus but willing to train the right individual


Part-Time Food Service Line Cook


Job Description:  The Food Service Line Cook at Maine Beer Company is responsible for creating and maintaining the highest quality food experience for all customers.  Providing the best possible experience for every patron and abiding by the values of MBC are of the highest priority.  The food service line cook reports directly to the Food Service Operations Manager.  The following is a list of responsibilities for this role, with the understanding that additional responsibilities may be added at any time.

• Stocking and preparing stations for service of wood fired pizza and other food at Maine Beer Company
• Maintaining food service area and prep kitchen cleanliness throughout shift
• Abiding by dress code applicable to food safety
• Maintain communication with food service manager and other coworkers
• Cleaning and maintenance of all equipment used for food service at MBC
• Maintain a positive attitude and cooperative work environment
• Keep TR clean and tables bussed at all times
• Keep food service flow smooth and time sensitive
• Preform daily opening and closing tasks as needed
• Follow standard operating procedures for operating the pizza oven and all additional equipment
• Build pizza boxes
• Stocking dry and perishable goods (rotating goods FIFO-first in first out)
• Stocking fire wood and assuring wood stays dry

Compensation:  Hourly, based on experience
